Ans- when a two or more device are inter connected with each other  is known as network.

Ans- There are five types .

1. LAN 
2. CAN 
3. PAN
4. MAN 
5. WAN

Q. What is Lan ?

Ans- It stands for local area network that connect computer within a limit area .    ex- office ,  school  

Q. What is Man ?
Ans- It stands for metropolitan area network .
                       OR  

A man is basically uses bigger version of a lan  and normally uses similar technology .    Ex- Entire city .
Q. what is Wan ?
Ans - It stands for wide area network and not restricted to a geographical location .
